This afternoon we went to a friend’s house to do some Easter crafting. Our journey there was delayed briefly by some escapees!
The crafting was a lot of fun and involved two different styles of decorating eggs.
The first involved an egg which had been hard boiled and then cooled. Stickers (as per picture below) werw stuck on the egg:
The eggs were then left to soak in a jug of water containing food colouring (the paste, greater depth of colour more easily achieved) for a good 5-10 minutes
(Use a spoon to put the egg in and remove it also, I have blue fingers now!)
Once out of the water dry completely on kitchen roll
Then start peeling the stickers off!
The results look pretty good!
After this they (and we) did a different style of decorating using wax crayons. The eggs were HOT which meant thebwax crayons melted easily
Plunge back in to the food colouring water and the food colouring is taken up where there’s no wax! Leave for 5-10 minutes and the result is below!
Supper was a slight fail as I’d forgotten to take it out of the freezer! Scampi, chips, carrots and sweetcorn.
